Let’s work together to create (and implement) a 3 year growth plan for your MSP

Paul Green, owner of Paul Green's MSP Marketing

Hi, this is Paul Green.

Doing a Discovery Day with me is only for the most ambitious and driven MSP owners.

Most people don’t fail in life because they aim too high and miss. They fail because they aim too low and hit.

If you desire systemised, rapid growth from your business, I can work with you and your management team to develop a simple but powerful growth strategy. And then support you with the implementation of it.

It’s a powerful process that starts with us spending the day together, focused on your business

Your Discovery Day will take place in Milton Keynes, where I live. We’ll agree the date to suit both our diaries.

I’ll hire a meeting room in a business venue. We’ll have a screen and projector, flip chart and a flow of hot coffee.

We’ll be away from your office; so you’re not distracted by the day-to-day clutter of operations, staff, etc. I need you focused all day working ON the business, not working IN it. Emails and phones will be switched off apart from breaks and lunch.

All the owners / directors of the business will need to be there. Because we’ll start by exploring what you want to achieve with your life, and your business, over the next 3 years.

The best possible life for you and your family

Having fun with my family

That’s me in the photo, on a fairground ride with my awesome daughter.

I realised years ago that as a business owner your life and business are intrinsically linked. So we’ll look at your vision for the best possible life for you and your family.

  • The personal income you need
  • The amount of free time you want away from your business
  • The holidays you want to take
  • The stuff you want to own.

We’ll explore what your short-term personal goals are. And then create (or review) your business goals that allow you to live the life you want to live.

Your goals will be SMART – an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timebound. Because SMART goals are more likely to be reached than wishy, washy vague goals.

Next we’ll look back a little. At key lessons learned over the previous 12 months. And we’ll do a full SWOT analysis – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.

Clarity over growth strategy

"The day with Paul helped us gain clarity over our growth strategy and identify clear goals, and actions towards realising these.

"As the owner of a dynamic IT services firm it is easy to identify paths for clients, but sometimes our own company is harder to take a step back to consider in context. Paul's direct and no nonsense approach has been much appreciated."

Ben Fitzgerald, Onega IT

Your key strategies to grow your MSP

Then we’ll put together a number of key strategies for your MSP. The strategies needed differ from business to business, but are likely to include:
“Strategy

  • Strategy to get new clients
  • Strategy to improve results from online marketing
  • Strategy to retain clients and increase monthly recurring revenue
  • Strategy to increase average spend
  • Strategy for staff, leadership, management and efficient operations

Finally we’ll look at the Critical Success Factors. What must happen in order to ensure this plan works. Typically this means looking at your resources (especially staff) and how you and your management team work together.

Every Discovery Day is wildly different. You can see a couple of anonymised examples here.

This is a typical plan of attack:

1) Start
Introductions
What you want from today
Rules of engagement

2) Choosing your future
Your vision for the best possible life for you and your family
Personal SMART goals
Your vision for the business
Business SMART goals
What makes you most excited?

3) Where are you now
In-depth SWOT analysis
Competitor analysis

4) Design for the future
How does the future business look?

5) Strategies and tactics
New clients (buyer personas)
Retention
Increasing average lifetime value
Management
Staff and resources

6) Review and agree Strategic Growth Plan

7) How to make it happen
Critical Success Factors
Resources
Time to GTD
Management attention and communication
Formal reviews

The very last part of the day is to pull together all of our discussions – around goals, strategies and tactics – into a specific 3 year Strategic Growth Plan to grow your business. It will be a very simple plan (1 or 2 pages at most) and detail exactly what you and your management team need to do.

That’s the outcome of your Discovery Day. A simple but powerful personalised plan to grow your business.

Best business decision

"I decided to sign up to a Discovery Day with Paul. It was the best business decision I have ever made.

"The amount of pure gold I got from the day was amazing, 4 pages of action points, 12 emails from Paul with bespoke scripts from social media videos to reworded LinkedIn profile sections, and 7 flip chart pages I can stick on my office wall to keep me focused on the things that will really make a difference in growing my business."

And you’ll get 9 months of extra support from me, implementing your plan

I’ve worked with enough MSP owners over the years to know that success is not about having a growth plan… it’s about successfully implementing it.

If ever there was a silver bullet to grow your business, it’s through consistent focused ACTION.

So we’ll jump on a video call three times in the 9 months following our day together. These 60 to 90 minute calls will give you an opportunity to update me on your progress, and ask questions about implementation.

But it’ll also give you full accountability (to me). Most people use their calls – diarised well in advance – to give them deadlines to get things done.

Left feeling motivated

"The day is an opportunity to think about your business and your life. So much time is taken up doing the day job there is no time to think of the future or plan anything other than getting through each day.

"Paul is very engaging and understood our business and lifestyle. I have left feeling motivated and can see the value again of having your own business rather than just the strain of it."

Annette Pine, Objective Technologies

"Even a day spent discussing and thinking about strategy is more than we've done in the last 12 months. I have confidence to use Paul's methodologies to be able to think differently about the business and have an implementation plan to move forwards."

Jason Pine, Objective Technologies

I choose to work with only one MSP per month

There’s a lot of prep involved for me before a Discovery Day, and the day itself is exhausting for me! Making it overall a fairly big investment of my time.

So I choose to only do one Discovery Day per month. I’d rather work to a higher level of quality with a small number of MSPs.

Plus it means I get to spend lots of valuable time with my family. That’s a good context… it’s the kind of thinking I’ll be applying to your life and business.

There’s a little prep for you too. Once we have agreed a date for your Discovery Day, you’ll be sent a pre-discovery questionnaire, packed with questions about your business – about you, your staff, the financial figures, the clients, etc. All confidential, of course.

This will give me full insight into your business when I’m prepping your Discovery Day. It will also get you thinking in the right direction, about what you want to achieve over the next 3 years.

Please do put aside at least 60 to 90 minutes to complete this questionnaire.

Here’s what to do next

Your investment for your Discovery Day and nine months of follow-up implementation video calls is £4,997 + vat.

The next step for you is to book a 15 minute no obligation call with my business partner Ben Smith. On that call you can:

  • Tell us more about your MSP
  • Check this is 100% right for your business
  • Get your questions answered
  • See my availability

Ben’s live calendar is below. Pick a 15 minute phone call time that best suits you please.

Remember, there’s zero commitment at this stage. You’re just discussing your business with someone who understands your world.
